Vacancy: Research Assistant required for Yorkshire Cancer Research funded project

Grade 7: £27,428 to £29,972

Fixed term: 12 months

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a graduate in Cancer Pharmacology funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research, to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team involved with the development of novel anti-cancer drugs. This position will drive the development of novel silver based complexes by conducting studies designed to identify their mechanism of action.

This project will be carried out at the Institute of Cancer Therapeutics within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Bradford. It is a joint project with Dr Charlotte Willans at the School of Chemistry at the University of Leeds. The Institute of Cancer Therapeutics has an international reputation for cancer pharmacology and translational research. It is part of an Experimental Cancer Medicine Centre (ECMC) that provides laboratory support to early phase clinical trials. The Institute is housed in a state-of-the-art new building with dedicated facilities for medicinal chemistry, target validation, drug analysis, proteomics, tumour biology and pharmacology.
